Ginuwine says It was a privilege working with Aaliyah

What was it like working with Aaliyah: It was a privilege. The misconception is that people think we hung out everyday. Its not so. We talked on the pagers and stuff. We did a lot of shows together and we were both hot at the time but we didn’t really hang out, hang out.

How do you feel about everyone taking shots at R.Kelly? Taking shots at Kelly? I think he deserved it. I mean, you don’t do that. You don’t do that man. I just feel like if you’re going to mess with somebody, mess with somebody your age. Okay, they said it wasn’t him, so if it was true, you mess with somebody your age.

New Aaliyah Album in 2010?

Word is out that there will be a new Aaliyah album coming out in 2010. Im unsure if this is true but we would all love it! What are your comments about this?

Aaliyah Movie Out In 2010

Canadian singer Keisha Chante is to play Aaliyah in the upcoming biopic movie that will release sometime next year.

A star in the R&B world before she was even out of her teens, Aaliyah’s promising career was tragically cut short by her shocking death in a plane crash at age 22. Aaliyah was on location in the Bahamas to film a video for ”Rock the Boat.”

On August 25, she and several members of the crew boarded a small twin-engine Cessna plane returning to the mainland. The plane crashed shortly after takeoff, exploding on impact. Aaliyah and seven other passengers were killed instantly, and the ninth later died at a Nassau hospital. Investigations into the crash showed that the plane had been loaded far past its weight capacity and that pilot Luis Morales had recently been arrested for crack cocaine possession (traces of which, along with alcohol, were found in his system).

The charter company, Blackhawk International Airways, had not authorized him to pilot the craft in question. As details continued to emerge from the plane crash investigation, Aaliyah’s parents filed suit against Blackhawk Airways, Virgin Records, and several other companies.

While many fans are hatin’ on Keisha I think the casting director did a great job! I have been looking up various photos of Keisha & Aaliyah and it’s uncanny how similar they look alike. I love Aaliyah & remember exactly where I was & what I was doing when I heard about her untimely death. Personally I can’t wait to see this movie. Aaliyah was truly an inspiration & had much to offer the R&B scene & the big screen.

Aaliyah Movie Will Cover Intimate Details Of The Singer’s Life

Production with start in March and Keshia Chante (right) will play the role of Aaliyah.

It has been reported that Warner Brother Films will be creating the motion picture of the late singer and actress Aaliyah who died in a plane crash in 2001. Aaliyah sold more than 32 million albums worldwide before her career was cut short. The film will be a biopic of the singers life. Bill Condon, director of “DreamGirls” will be directing the film.

We are going to great extremities to make this movie perfect. We have Chante in extensive training studying, speaking with family members, watching personal footage and in choreography training with Aaliyah’s choreographer and dear friend Fatima Robinson. This movie will be seamless the same way it was for Selena fans who enjoyed Jennifer Lopez. I can promise Aaliyah fans that this movie will be ten notches higher.

A source for the film reveals that they “will be going very deep into Aaliyah’s life” and will allow fans to see the “most intimate side of Aaliyah’s legacy.” Sources say the script for the film ‘holds no bars’ and will go as far as touching on the subject of Aaliyah’s highly debated and publicized marriage and annulment to producer R.Kelly.

It has also been confirmed Aaliyah’s colleagues will be featured in the film. Her choreographer Fatima Robinson, Producer and friends, Timbaland, Missy Elliot, Ginuwine, even world renowed music video director Hype Williams will be apart of the film and help re-create the “Rock The Boat” video set which was the last video Aaliyah ever shot. The movie is tentative to start production end of March and is rumored to have a production budget of over 80 million dollars.

New Aaliyah Movie Coming Out!!! Staring Keisha Chante!!

Canadian(Ontario)-born R&B singer Keisha Chante has been confirmed to play Aaliyah in a much-anticipated biopic set for release next year.

According to the National Post, the ink is dry on Chante’s contract to portray the R&B singer in the as-yet-titled biopic.

Chronicling the life of the R&B star that brought magic to both the screen and the studio, Aaliyah’s biopic will attempt to cover the singer’s journey up to her untimely death in 2001.

Chante, a successful R&B singer who released “2U” in 2006, will also star in a new television series entitled “Soul,” set to hit the ’small screen’ early 2009.

A release date has not been set, the Aaliyah biopic is rumored to be hitting theaters mid-2009.

AALIYAH'S SEDUCTIVE VOICE STILL INSPIRES

IN HER FLEETING, 22-year life, singer Aaliyah served as both mouthpiece and muse for some of R&B's most forward-thinking producers.

R. Kelly, Timbaland, and Missy Elliott all drew inspiration from her flexible and seductive vocals. Her smoky tone and unfussy delivery made her the ultimate foil for their expansive vision of taut, modern R&B.

Small wonder the singer's death hasn't ended the public's romance with her music. Since her death in a plane crash five years ago today, she has moved even more discs than before - nearly 4 million, post-, to just over 3 million, pre-.

The singer seemed destined to snare attention from the start. Not only did she have talent, she had connections. Born Aaliyah Haughton (her first name is Swahili for "most exalted one"), the singer's uncle was Barry Hankerson, a powerful manager and entertainment lawyer who, for a while, was married to Gladys Knight.

But her big break (and eventual scandal) came starting at age 15, when Hankerson introduced her to another artist he was managing: R. Kelly. The singer was so taken with Aaliyah, he wound up writing and producing her entire debut CD, 1994's "Age Ain't Nothing But A Number."

One song from that CD, "Back and Forth," hit No. 1 on the R&B chart. But controversy threatened to overshadow it when it was revealed that Kelly and the underage Aaliyah had secretly wed.

The union was annulled months later and Aaliyah also split with Kelly professionally.

She then hooked up with two major producers on the rise - Timbaland and Missy Elliott. They helped make Aaliyah's second CD, "One In A Million," a critical and commercial smash.

By the time Aaliyah graduated from high school, she had contributed several songs to a film score for "Anastasia" and begun an acting career, appearing in 2000 with Jet Li in "Romeo Must Die." That film's soundtrack housed her first No. 1 pop hit, "Try Again."

Aaliyah also earned an acting role in the movie version of Anne Rice's vampire novel "Queen of the Damned."

The singer's third album, 2001's "Aaliyah," had only been out about one month when tragedy struck.

The outpouring of grief shot "Aaliyah" to No. 1. The CD, which sold roughly 500,000 copies before her death, went on to move 2.1 million more. A posthumous release in late 2002, titled "I Care 4 U," hit No. 3 on the charts and sold 1.6 million copies.

In the time since, Aaliyah hasn't been forgotten, inspiring "shout outs" from scores of R&B and hip-hop stars. And while R&B radio stations tend to avoid older tracks, Aaliyah's memory lives on for all those who know her sweet tone and the savvy sounds that surrounded it.
