What about Aaliyah's life in a film ?
The film about singer Aaliyah, dead too early in 2001 at 22 years old, is currently shot by "Dreamgirls" director Bill Condon... The filming will start in March.
About the bio film about the R&B singer Aaliyah, dead 8 years ago at 22 years old, news is spreaded... We know that singer & actress Keisha Chante would play "Try Again" (N°26 in 2000) singer. Bill Condon, director of the film "Dreamgirls", should direct this film. "Chante is currently learning her role, talking to family members, watching videos & training with Aaliyah's dance teacher & her friend Fatima Robinson. This film will be for "Selena" fans, who loved Jennifer Lopez" he said.
The film should also talk about her marriage with R. Kelly, when she was only 15. The filming will start next month. Aaliyah Dana Haughton was a R&B singer from the 90's. She got revealed with her first album Age Ain't Nothing But A Number, successful thanks to the singles "Back And Forth" & "At Your Best". 2 years later, in 1996, she met Timbaland who produced her second album One In A Million, including songs written by Missy Elliott. After a collaboration with DMX, she worked with Timbaland again for her self-titled third album. On August 25, 2001, in Bahamas, back from the filming of "Rock The Boat" video (which became a posthumous video), the small plane who took her & her team crashed at the takeoff, stopping her promising career. Destiny's Child star Beyonce Knowles praised Aaliyah's good nature.
"She was one of the first celebrities we met, she was so nice, we went out, we hung out with her, and it's really sad and we're trying to be strong," she said.

Aaliyah's debut paved the way for a legion of teen-aged female R&B singers, including Brandy, Monica and 702. Aaliyah is no kid, though; she sings with a maturity that belies her age. Much about her life has changed, but she remains a mature young lady who sings about the ups and downs of true love experiences on this follow-up record. Obviously a trained singer, Aaliyah glides easily between vocal ranges. Her soft style is more refined than the over-exaggerated riffs of other R&B songstresses. As on her first album, she pays tribute to the Isley Brothers, this time with "Choosey Lover." She adds more old-school flavor with her remake of the Marvin Gaye classic "Got To Give It Up."

Aaliyah & Keshia
According to sources Canadian R&B songstress Keshia Chanté has been casted for the leading role of Aaliyah for the upcoming Aaliyah biopic. A couple of years back - it was supposed to be video vixen Destiny Light. Keshia definitely has an uncanny resemblance that makes her more suitable for the part and supposedly she also has the acting chops to pull it off. The movie is slated to begin filming this August.
