Aaliyah Movie Out In 2010

Canadian singer Keisha Chante is to play Aaliyah in the upcoming biopic movie that will release sometime next year.

A star in the R&B world before she was even out of her teens, Aaliyah’s promising career was tragically cut short by her shocking death in a plane crash at age 22. Aaliyah was on location in the Bahamas to film a video for ”Rock the Boat.”

On August 25, she and several members of the crew boarded a small twin-engine Cessna plane returning to the mainland. The plane crashed shortly after takeoff, exploding on impact. Aaliyah and seven other passengers were killed instantly, and the ninth later died at a Nassau hospital. Investigations into the crash showed that the plane had been loaded far past its weight capacity and that pilot Luis Morales had recently been arrested for crack cocaine possession (traces of which, along with alcohol, were found in his system).

The charter company, Blackhawk International Airways, had not authorized him to pilot the craft in question. As details continued to emerge from the plane crash investigation, Aaliyah’s parents filed suit against Blackhawk Airways, Virgin Records, and several other companies.

While many fans are hatin’ on Keisha I think the casting director did a great job! I have been looking up various photos of Keisha & Aaliyah and it’s uncanny how similar they look alike. I love Aaliyah & remember exactly where I was & what I was doing when I heard about her untimely death. Personally I can’t wait to see this movie. Aaliyah was truly an inspiration & had much to offer the R&B scene & the big screen.

  2. when the haughton family officially release information about this movie and i see it in the mainstream media thats when i'll believe this movie is really gonna happen cause i'm so sick of the rumors about this movie and you can't really find any reliable information about it online, first this destiny chick has the leading role, then keisha chante, then drew sidora and alot of other names have been thrown around as well, then people say the information about who's directing it is also false, then people say a 2010 release, others say a 2011 release, so i don't know who to believe, i honestly don't know who would be a good choice to play aaliyah cause she was so unique but this destiny chick wasn't a good choice cause while she can dance she looks nothing like aaliyah and while keisha chante favors aaliyah, there's the question of can she dance and act cause the songs can be lip synced but she has to be able to move cause aaliyah was smooth on her feet and drew sidora has a slight resmeblance as well and she can act but can she move but i think she's a better choice than keisha chante but i'm willing to give keisha the benefit of the doubt but she better deliver cause who they choose for the leading role will make or break this movie, not to mention they'll be alot of pissed off aaliyah fans if they ruin it, so they have to find someone who has the look, the aaliyah swagger, who can dance and act and i know there's someone out there who's the whole package so maybe they should consider an unknown for the role and not solely look for someone in the industry to play the part, anyways, i really hope they make this movie happen, its been 8 years now since aaliyah's tragic death and its time for a biopic on her life, i'm a huge aaliyah fan, always have been always will be and i just want them to do babygirl justice in this movie, i want it to be done right, so i hope the haughton family is really involved in every aspect of the movie, i love you and i miss you babygirl, r.i.p beautiful
